UK-Japan Collaboration in V2G (Vehicle to Grid) Technology

At the LCV2017 exhibition (Low Carbon Vehicle Show, on the 6-7 September at Millbrook, UK), Japanese and UK companies (OKAYA&CO.Ltd, Nichicon Corporation and DriveElectric) signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to launch one of the first V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) Chargers, which will be released late summer 2018.

Trade Mission from Nagoya Chamber of Commerce visited the UK. Their primary focus was on City development and the UK Manufacturing. We have made introductions and accompanied their visits to companies and facilities related to manufacturing and autonomous driving.
Oxford Innovation Society Meeting & Dinner, UK-Japan research collaboration

On the 20th June, The Oxford Innovation Society’s meeting and dinner reception were held, featuring the subject of collaboration between the UK and Japan in research into new technologies. This event was co-hosted by the Embassy of Japan in the UK and Oxford University Innovation.
Japan Roundtable – future opportunities between Japan and the UK

On the 15th June, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) hosted the Japan Roundtable with 20 guests, including METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) Kansai, Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Japanese companies based in the Thames Valley, UK companies who already trade with Japanese companies, and local companies who are interested in working with Japanese companies.
TVCC new Global Service launch

On the 9th May 2017, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) launched its new Global Service, including the Japan Desk services, at Ascot Racecourse.
Our MD Masako Eguchi-Bacon made an introduction to the Japanese market and how the Japan Desk can support UK companies.

OBM worked closely with TVCC and Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and supported the recruiting and selection process of the applicants as well as accompanying the mission.
